Jenny helps nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and foundations surface shared understanding and expand collective thinking, make informed decisions, and translate community knowledge, research, and data into meaningful action. With more than a decade of experience, Jennifer designs and facilitates inclusive planning and learning processes that help leaders and teams navigate complexity, align around shared priorities, and develop strategies grounded in the experiences of the communities they serve.
Jenny’s work spans strategic planning, advocacy strategy, facilitation, community engagement, and research and evaluation. She is particularly skilled at asking the questions that help clients sharpen their ideas, surface important tensions, and move from broad aspirations to clear goals, decisions, and investments. Her recent work has included facilitating community-informed strategic planning for First 5 Riverside County, helping Para Los Niños develop an advocacy strategy and learning agenda, and supporting organizations to strengthen their approaches to evaluation, policy change, and community engagement. Selected clients include First 5 Riverside County, First 5 San Bernardino, First 5 LA, Para Los Niños, Options for Learning, The Education Trust–West, LA84 Foundation and the Play Equity Fund, Mission Neighborhood Health Center, and Black Educator Advocates Network.
Jenny's approach is rooted in culturally responsive and participatory practice, adult learning, and her experience using research to support community organizing and advocacy. During her five-year tenure at Innovate Public Schools, she published more than a dozen reports in English and Spanish that placed accessible research and data in the hands of thousands of families across Los Angeles and the Bay Area. Families used these resources to advocate for the changes they wanted in their schools, districts, and communities. Her work has been featured by ABC7, the Los Angeles Times, LA School Report, EdSource, La Opinión, and Univision.
Jenny is fluent in English and Spanish. She is a mother of two young children, a mixed Mexicana and Latina, and proud daughter of an immigrant mother. She grew up in a bilingual and bicultural household in California's Inland Empire.
